In his latest book “The Secret Garden of the Republic: 50 Years of Self” (Plon) published in September, Marcelo Wesfreid explains how and why the Republic’s hunting tradition continues in Chambord (Loir-et-Cher). From Georges Pompidou to Emmanuel Macron, no president has freed himself from this tool of power.
In the same book, the journalist in the political service of the Parisian returns to the resounding resignation of Nicolas Hulot. He had a front row seat this morning of August 28, 2018, when the famous Minister of Ecological Transition threw in the towel live.
The announcement comes the day after a heated meeting on hunting reform, in the presence of a surprise guest. That evening, the former presenter of “Ushuaia” finds himself facing his enemy Thierry Coste, hunting lobbyist and close to the President of the Republic.
Marcelo Wesfreid followed the events. He recounts the hours that changed the choice of the minister, in Code Source.
